About Us
The Tan Center was established in Israel as the first official center in the world for treatments, research, development and teachings of the Balance Method devised by Dr. Richard Tan. The Center was established by Guy Polak and Adi Fromm with the inspiration and encouragement of Dr. Tan.
The Center was created to meet the need of practitioners to have an official and professional base and as a model for future official and professional centers in other countries. Our joint vision with Dr. Tan is to create a model of responsible teaching, backed with many years of clinical experience along with the collection and presentation of verified data. We are particularly focused on setting a high standard for professionalism while offering a unique teaching experience, building curriculums and educating the younger generation of practitioners. Our vast clinical experience in the field of treatments and teaching of Chinese Medicine in the hospital extends over fifteen years. We have treated patients in the outpatient and hospital wards; Orthopedics, Gastro, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Urology, Physiology, Gynecology, Maternity as well as in own private clinics. We regularly teach at Chinese Medicine schools in Israel. This experience has given us tried and proven clinical experience of thousands of patients, and the teaching of hundreds of students in their different education levels. We have built a large and professional team that practices the Balance Method and does hundreds of treatments and data collection on a weekly basis. This is what has gained us Dr. Tan’s support and trust. Our professional world view requires us to address the past, present and future of Chinese Medicine. To make sure to connect the world of Acupuncture in general and the Balance Method in particular to the great Meridian Theory. To understand the present position of the practitioners and to provide them with practical tools and professional advice to treat in the here and now; to connect the world of Acupuncture to the world of medicinal Chinese herbs and continue to learn and develop the Balance Method system in a professional and responsible way that characterizes our whole career. The Tan Center continues to commit to practice, teach and develop Dr. Tan’s Balance Method and to preserve the spirit of our guide and teacher. We hope that we can make our teacher proud of us and give even just a little of the inspiration and smile that Dr. Tan has given the world. With love, Adi Fromm and Guy Polak
